The Meatball Bomb

With Autumn trying to make an appearance, County Fair inspired foods are becoming a topic. The basic idea is to have a food that can now be portable and easy to eat on the move. If you think about most of these foods, they are either frozen or deep fried and normally on a stick. As for what can you serve, you are only limited by your imagination.

I am going to give you a simple, everything came from the store assembly. Now, if you want to make your own meatballs or other filling, got for it. This is just a fast and easy throw together idea.

I start with a mini-muffin pan and a fresh packet of wonton or ravioli wraps. Next is a packet of meatballs, some marinara or any packaged spaghetti sauce, and some parmesan cheese.

My hack for flavor is to twice cook the meatballs. Round one is to make sure the meatballs are properly cooked and hot. Round two is for heating them again in my choice of sauce. This only takes a couple of minutes and what I am looking for is a good sauce coating.

I put a wrap into a muffin bay, sprinkle in a little parmesan cheese, and drop in a meatball. The final step is to set the finished tray in the oven at a medium heat (350 f) for about five minutes of the until the wrap edges begin to brown. This just firms up the wrap so it will hold the shape.

There you go, a simple, fun, and tasty treat that you have already thought of a hundred variations you can try. Go for it and enjoy!
